Our FAQs

IS FOUNDRY ACADEMY ACCREDITED?

Foundry Academy is accredited for Grades 6-12 by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and has earned their highest classification: "Accredited with Quality."

FOUNDRY ACADEMY LOOKS LIKE A GREAT DEAL OF FUN, BUT IS IT AN
ACADEMIC SCHOOL?

Be assured...you will work hard at Foundry Academy. Classes are real. Teachers are highly qualified. We are a hands-on, project-based learning (and super fun) school, but you will read books, write papers, study diligently, and complete the courses of rigor necessary to enter the career of your choice.

Foundry Academy's modified block schedule on Mondays through Thursdays and its Project Day on Fridays are what allows students the flexibility needed to both work hard and have fun.

IS FOUNDRY ACADEMY A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

While Foundry Academy is not a Christian school, we do believe there is an objective truth and objective moral standards.  This means children of all faiths and beliefs are welcome and the only religious instruction given is in the context of a world religions class. Certain Christian holidays may be celebrated though, for example students would be allowed to put on a Christmas play or party, or hold an Easter Egg hunt for the local community if that’s what they chose for a service project.

We also agree that, as the Declaration of Independence states, all people “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”

We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God and are precious.  We relish the responsibility of helping our precious students to grow into empathetic adults who know their inherent value.

does foundry Academy have a sports program?

Foundry Academy has some after-school extracurricular sport activities, but we do not have a large sports program.  What we do offer are partnerships with local sports teams and programs. Many Foundry Academy students participate in sports from social to elite and national levels through these partnerships. Whether you are interested in soccer, archery, basketball, or something in between, we can help you to find a team that supports your goals.

DOES FOUNDRY ACADEMY ADMINISTER STANDARDIZED TESTS,
SUCH AS GEORGIA MILESTONES?

Foundry Academy does not "teach to the test," and we do not use Common Core. Learning at Foundry Academy is real, relevant, and focused on the future. Quizzes, tests, and finals are given by teachers who are experts in their fields and are designed to help students reach their goals and the subject's learning outcomes.  We do understand that the ACT and SAT are necessary for some college admissions, so we offer opportunities to prepare for these tests and administer the PSAT annually.

ARE UNIFORMS REQUIRED AT FOUNDRY Academy?

Foundry Academy announced a uniform dress code in the 2022-2023 school year. Studies show that school uniforms decrease the clothing budget for families, increases school spirit, and helps students to see each other as equals rather than judging someone based on their appearances. WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS?

Upper School Classes run from 8:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m.  Extracurricular activities like Model UN, yoga, running club, Interact, board games, etc. run after school.  Lower School classes run from 8:30 till 3:30.

ARE PART-TIME STUDENTS ACCEPTED AT FOUNDRY ACADEMY?

We do have part-time options.  For the Upper School, home-schooled students may choose to attend Foundry Academy on Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Friday.  We also offer a la carte subjects for Upper School students. For Lower School there are no part time options starting the 2023-2024 school year.

ARE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?

In addition, Foundry Academy is partnering with local individuals and businesses to provide merit-based scholarships, for which students may apply.
