FAQ

IS THE FOUNDRY ACCREDITED?

The Foundry is accredited for Grades 9-12 by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and has earned their highest classification: "Accredited with Quality."

THE FOUNDRY LOOKS LIKE A GREAT DEAL OF FUN, BUT IS IT AN ACADEMIC SCHOOL?

Be assured...you will work hard at The Foundry. Classes are real. Teachers are highly qualified. We are a hands-on, project-based learning (and super fun) school, but you will read books, write papers, study diligently, and complete the courses of rigor necessary to enter the career of your choice.

The Foundry's modified block schedule on Mondays through Thursdays and its Project Day on Fridays are what allows students the flexibility needed to both work hard and have fun.

IS THE FOUNDRY A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?

Character matters at The Foundry. It factors into our admissions process and permeates the culture of our school. While virtue is a constant among our students, religious doctrines vary. Rather than espouse a particular religious faith, The Foundry strives to promote character and values and to create an environment that respects the individual beliefs of all of our students.

does the foundry have a sports program?

The Foundry has some after-school extracurricular sport activities, but we do not have a large sports program.  What we do offer are parterships with local sports teams and programs. Many Foundry students participate in sports from social to elite and national levels through these partnerships. Whether you are interested in soccer, archery, basketball, or something in between, we can help you to find a team that supports your goals.

DOES THE FOUNDRY ADMINISTER STANDARDIZED TESTS, SUCH AS GEORGIA MILESTONES?

The Foundry does not "teach to the test," and we do not use Common Core. Learning at The Foundry is real, relevant, and focused on the future. Quizzes, tests, and finals are given by teachers who are experts in their fields and are designed to help students reach their goals and the subject's learning outcomes.  We do understand though that the ACT and SAT are necessary for some college admissions, so we offer opportunities to prepare and take these tests.

ARE UNIFORMS REQUIRED AT THE FOUNDRY?

While The Foundry doesn't require uniforms, we do have a business casual dress code Monday through Thursday. Fridays are project days and, since you may find yourself knee-deep in a creek or forging iron into a unique creation, we encourage our students to dress accordingly.

WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL HOURS?

Classes run from 8:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m.  Extracurricular activities like Model UN, yoga, running club, Interact, board games, etc. run after school.

ARE PART-TIME STUDENTS ACCEPTED AT THE FOUNDRY?

We do have a part-time option, in which home-schooled students may choose to attend The Foundry on Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday-Friday.  Though full-time students receive priority in the admissions process, we do intend to continue this program if space allows.

are scholarships available?

The Foundry has teamed up with the Georgia GOAL program to help provide financial assistance to students. Need-based scholarships will be available to eligible new students . In addition, The Foundry is partnering with local individuals and businesses to provide merit-based scholarships, for which students may apply.
